Hey Folks! It's time to bring back the Chilldown Period after a short hiatus. Now it's time to bring back the midtempo chill with an hour and a quarter of beat filled greatness. First things first - let's give credit where credit is due for the photo. The photo was taken by chrisjta.ylor.ca and the original is found here. You can also read the Creative Commons license here. I was trying to find a proper word for how I feel and a portmanteau came to mind: Intropy. Didn't know what it completely meant and when I found it at Urban Dictionary it fit: Inertia and Entropy. Inertia is energy at rest and Entropy is disorder. My mind is moving at 1000 miles per hour but with the way things are going I can't go anywhere. And it is frustrating. Plus, we are moving across the country - so my gears are grinding. Sorry if that was too much sharing. And the photo of the child with his head in his hands is perfect for how I feel. Oh, you only thought there would be one episode! Man, you were WRONG! MUWAHAHAHAHAAHAH. Oh, wait, I told you there would be two. Ha ha - my bad. Also, my apologies for getting this out late. It's been one of those weeks. Once again credit must be given to Wil and the Fat Kid on Fire Crew! Also Gradient Audio, Bacon Dubs, Dirt First, Elk Beats, and other fine labels and artists.
Also, gotta give a shout out to KurrYaHurd! Just following her on soundcloud has opened up my ears to new sounds and she deserves all the support and follows you can give her. She does big work! It's time to get down to business! This is just PART ONE of our two part Dubstep Directive experience this month and I have to give a LOT of credit to Wil and the Fat Kid on Fire Crew! They have put out so many awesome tunes lately that I couldn't contain myself and just use one or two in this month's show. I've dropped a metric tonne of their tunes, as well as massive tunes from Gradient Audio, Bacon Dubs, Dirt First, Elk Beats, and other fine labels and artists. If you haven't seen FKOF's new website or heard the mix of their latest compilation - get on over to their sites, both web and soundcloud, and get a TASTE of what the Kids are cookin'! Also, gotta give a shout out to KurrYaHurd! Just following her on soundcloud has opened up my ears to new sounds and she deserves all the support and follows you can give her. She does big work! I'm still waiting for the day for her to start her own label! Kurr, when you do, I'd be glad to drop your label's tunes on my podcasts! Also, my apologies for this podcast being at 128 kbps. I was meaning for it to be at a higher quality, yet the size of it and the amount of storage I have do not allow me to do such at this time. I might upload it at mediafire if people want me to in a higher quality. NOW, ON TO THE PODCAST!! Oooooo, boy. It's been a busy, crazy, and mind numbing past few weeks. Yet, we have dubstep to bring us together and smooth over any frustrating day, week, month, etc. So, let us go from frustrated and let the bass pour over use like a subsonic frequency of body shaking goodness which we all need. Здравствуйте! This month, on our musical journey around the world, we are heading to the Russian Far East to the port city of Vladivostok! First off, I want to say спасибо to all the artists, labels, and to Katia and Vladislav for the pictures. I used Katia's photo from Eagle's Nest Hill which can be found here with the license here. I used Vladislav's copy of the Vladivostok Coat of Arms found here with the license here. And also a thank you to the Mahalo video language series with Anna Savostikova. When I was younger, I used to read the encyclopedia and watch the news quite often. I remember one night watching the news and there was a report from Vladivostok, Russia about a rock concert or something. The name intrigued me and I checked it out on the map of Russia to see where it was at. I was also recently reading up on professional football (FC Luch-Energiya Vladivostok) in Vladivostok and the complaints teams from Moscow and St. Petersburg had on traveling to Vladivostok and the distance it took to get there. An analog here in the states would be an American Football team traveling from Utah, Arkansas, or New Jersey to Hawai'i. It's just a shade under 4000 miles (6400 km) between Moscow and Vladivostok. From the photos and the videos of Vladivostok and the quick read on a little bit of the city's history, I would say that it would be another place I would love to visit sometime in my life. Now, on to the tracklisting! |

THIS. IS. MY. Buh-B-B-Buh-Birthday MIX! Yeah, it's 1.75 hours long. Yet, when it's your birthday, you can indulge in a few more songs just like you can indulge in a bit more cake. That's why I'm calling this mix "Red Velvet Cake"! YUMMMMM!! The original photo which I used for the podcast cover is found here. Daniel is the one who took the photo and the license for the photo can be found here. I need to give a shout out to KurrYaHurrd! I haven't done so in a while and she deserves a shout! I tried to explain what the fifth dimension is, and I hope I did an okay job in the podcast, yet if you want a better description visit this video. If you go above the fourth dimension - where you would see yourself in a long "undulating snake" as he says in the video: The fifth dimension is the "Many Worlds" or the possibilities which could take places in our lives. Every possibility which could happen in our life is a reality (or something like that) in the fifth dimension. So, this episode of the Chilldown Period is called "Visions from the Fifth Dimension". Just imagine one individual, traveling through the fourth dimension and at each point where a new possibility could form, ie becoming a basketballer instead of a footballer, are like the different songs in this podcast. Each of them chilled, yet they do it in different ways and for different people. There are beats, melody and measures and each point in your aural self takes a different possibility through the songs. One song is at 87, another at 90, another at 120, 140, etc. Each possibility seen through the fifth dimension. "Many Beats, Many Worlds"... or something like that. Need to give credit to Dr. Spam for the great photo up above. You can view the original here and the license here. Also, the font used for Chilldown Period is called "Return to Sender" by Tom Kolter. The rest of the writing is done in "Muncie" which you can find at the Lost Type Co-op. Have you ever felt the ground shake while standing next to a dual or triple engined train combo pushing freight down the track? The engines chugging, black smoke billowing and your feel vibrated by the 6, 7, 8,000 horsepower plus going down the tracks is an invigorating feeling. This is what this episode of the Dubstep Directive feels like - eight thousand horsepower going down the track with 22 tunes dropping bass, and frequencies sure to shake your chest cavity. Need to give credit for the picture to the left. You can find the original here, and it was taken by Rennett Stowe. It is licensed under this Creative Commons license. Big tunes, big sounds, and big bass equals Diesel Powered Madness! You can use this link to visit the blog listing for this set. It's been a while since I structured a podcast like this and I felt it was about time. I'm going back to the old ways of doing my podcasts with an hour long show of eclectic beats and fantastic chilling. I want to say thanks to all of the artists, netlabels, etc., who have allowed me to use their music for this episode of the podcast. Much appreciation goes out to you folks! You can check out my blogsite here. We've gotten cold once again in Idaho. The picture to your left is a river here in the area that is frozen over with quite a bit of snow on top. That trail you see on the river is from a cross country skier who decided to take advantage of our frigid temperatures and traverse the water way. Oh, also, I am getting used to my new microphone and I'm learning how to make it not sound that bad. My voice recorded a bit hotter than I'd would have liked, yet it sounds a lot crisper than my podcasts last month. Enough of that, let's get to chillin'!

Welcome to the Year End Grime Spectacular of the Dubstep Directive! This is my first Grime mix and I hope you enjoy it. I created the podcast cover in tribute to my favorite soft drink: Dr. Pepper! Dr. Pepper is smooth and tasty and Grime is smooth and aurally tasty. I am somewhat new to the Grime scene and the instrumentals and tunes are quickly filling up my hard drives. If you do not know much about Grime, then I hope you take a chance, download the podcast and listen. If you are into the Grime scene already I hope you enjoy this mix as well. We have an hour and fifteen minutes of Grime instrumentals, Grime vocals. and Grime flavored dubstep. I need to say thanks to everyone who made this podcast possible! Let's get into the show!
